The 2023 Players Championship Finals kicked off at the Butlin’s Resort in Minehead on Friday with 64 of darts’ best players – just 16 now remain. But what is the 2023 Players Championship Finals total prize money, and how much can the winner expect to earn?

The 2023 Players Championship Finals gets underway in Minehead between Friday, 24th November, and Sunday, 26th November, as the top 64 players based on the Players Championship Order of Merit face off to conclude the 30-event 2023 Players Championship season. Participants at the finals are based solely on how much prize money they’ve earned across the 30 events throughout the year.

This year’s edition of the PDC darts tournament will be the 16th of its kind, with reigning champion Michael van Gerwen bidding to defend his crown by winning what would be a record-extending eighth Players Championship Finals title.

Off the back of the 2023 Grand Slam in Wolverhampton where the prize pool was set at a lucrative £650,000, fans may be wondering how much money is on offer for this one. Well, this competition’s prize pot is set at a similar sum, as the total 2023 Players Championship Finals prize money is £600,000.

This is a £100,000 increase on last year’s £500,000 prize pot, where Van Gerwen triumphed to take home a total of £100,000. By winning the 2023 edition of the competition, the winner will once again take home 20% of the total – but this time the total will be £120,000.

All 64 participants at this year’s Players Championship Finals are guaranteed a minimum of £3,000, with a win in the first round more than doubling that to £6,500. A place in the last 16 will earn the players a nice £10,000, which will be doubled to £20,000 for advancing to the quarter-finals.

The two losing semi-finalists will earn £30,000 apiece, while a £60,000 sum will be provided to the tournament’s runner-up, and as previously mentioned – the champion will receive a whopping £120,000.

Players Championship Finals Prize Money Breakdown

Position Prize Money
(Total: £600,000)
Winner £120,000
Runner-Up £60,000
Semi-Finalists £30,000
Quarter-Finalists £20,000
Last 16 £10,000
Last 32 £6,500
Last 64 £3,000

As is seen from the table above, the 2023 Players Championship Finals total prize money equates to £600,000, rising from last year’s £500,000 total. The sum will be shared between all 64 participants, with a higher percentage of the total going to players who advance further into the competition at the Butlin’s Resort in Minehead.

The PDC have opted to offer players bonuses in previous competitions, such as the recent Grand Slam where group winners earned an extra £3,500 and those who hit a nine-dart finish received an extra £10,000, however there will be no bonuses for players to enjoy at the Players Championship Finals.
