Liverpool conceded early on against Bournemouth on Saturday but the Reds were able to get back on track to record a 3-1 victory, despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half.

The Reds went behind after just three minutes at Anfield, as Antoine Semenyo rifled a shot into the bottom right corner to give the Cherries an early lead.

Liverpool weren’t behind for long however, as Luis Diaz managed to score his second goal of the season in as many games with a skilful finish from close range beating Neto in goal.

Mohamed Salah was given a chance to double his sides advantage from the penalty spot midway through the first half and although the Egyptian rarely misses from 12-yards, he couldn’t convert as Neto made a huge save in goal.

Unfortunately for the Cherries goalkeeper Salah was the quickest to react to his miss and he quickly pounced on the rebound to give Liverpool an advantage going into half time.

It was the visitors who came out quicker in the second period, with Semenyo giving Allison something to think about in goal yet again as he drilled a shot just over the crossbar.

Bournemouth were given a chance to get back into the game after Alexis Mac Allister saw red for a studs-up challenge on Ryan Christie, but they failed to make the number advantage work in their favour.

Diogo Jota sealed the victory for Liverpool just minutes after Mac Allister was sent off, as the Portuguese forward snapped up a Dominik Szoboszlai shot that was parried by Neto to seal the Reds’ first victory of the season.
