It’s Classic Chase day at Warwick this Saturday and with a lot of wet, cold and freezing conditions around the country then track officials will be keeping a close eye on the Warwickshire weather.
The Warwick going is currently described as ‘SOFT’, so the course will be hoping any more rain will stay away. The good news is that despite the forecast looking cold and overcast there is no rain due in the Warwickshire area.
Let’s just hope the Met Office predictions are right.
We’ll also see the ITV Racing cameras at Warwick to take in four races on their monster eight race card, that include last week’s cancelled Sandown Park Veterans’ Chase (3:35), where horse racing fans will get to see some old faces like Good Boy Bobby and Cepage.
The Hampton Novices’ Chase (2:25) is another highlight as the exciting Broadway Boy is back on the track after his two Cheltenham wins this season and is set to take on Grey Dawning, who looked an unlucky loser last time.
Saturday’s Warwick card is, however, headlined by the Classic Chase (3:00), in what looks an ultra-competitive renewal his year. The Emma Lavelle camp will be hunting their third win in the race since 2014.
They have the James Best-ridden My Silver Lining entered, who has been runner-up in her last two races.
