WRAPPENDUPINMAY – Paul Nicholls runner that despite not winning from first two starts over hurdles put in two solid seconds and looks the sort to improve further for the step up in trip.
1:15 – Howden Graduation Chase (GBB Race) Cl2 (4yo+) 2m5f SKY
SOLO – Another from the Paul Nicholls yard, who won this in 2013 and 2014. Runner-up at Exeter in the Haldon Gold Cup last time and with that run coming off a 195-day break will be better for it.
1:50 – Howden Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl2 (4yo+ 0-150) 2m3f ITV4
CAP DU MATHAN – Third Paul Nicholls runner to have onside at Ascot on Saturday. A solid 4th on his return run at Ascot last month and connections have given him 49 days to get over that. Templegate expects him to be spot on for this now in a race the yard won in 2015.
2:25 – Howden Long Walk Hurdle (Grade 1) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 3m½f ITV4
CHAMP won the Long Walk Hurdle a few years ago and despite now being aged 11 is a horse that goes very well fresh.
3:00 – Howden Silver Cup Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 3m ITV4
BLACKJACK MAGIC caught the Templegate eye when winning the Badger Beer Handicap Chase last time at Wincanton. Up 6lbs here but looks a chaser on the up and the Honeyball yard have a good record in this race too.
3:35 – Betfair Exchange Trophy (A Handicap Hurdle) (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 1m7½f ITV4
The Harry Fry yard had a good winner in the week with Gidleigh Park and they look to have another good chance in ALTOBELLI, who was a nice second at Ascot on his return run last month.
