Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew starts the new week with two recommended bets/trades at Ripon on Monday, August 7th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
RIPON 3.55
EY UP IT’S MAGGIE was surprisingly sent off as the favourite for a 19-runner handicap on good ground at York last month, finishing almost five lengths back in fifth. That was her fourth straight defeat – three when starting as clear favourite – since her reappearance success at Doncaster back in April, but with the ground in her favour today she’s taken to bounce back. She’s now won just one of her 23 starts on officially good to soft or quicker going but has form figures on anything slower of 1843132415 (3-10). One of those wins came on ground that was actually heavy according to race times and on ground described as soft, heavy in places, with showers forecast she could prove hard to beat. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back EY UP IT’S MAGGIE in Ripon 3.55
RIPON 5.05
LERWICK ran out a comfortable two-length winner at Pontefract last month, but he made all on that pace-favouring track and may have been flattered. The ground was officially ‘good’ that day and he’s only once raced on anything slower, finishing well held in fourth when the 7-4 favourite. His sire’s progeny have a low strike-rate on soft or heavy going (according to race times, not the official going) and he can be sold in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Oppose LERWICK in Ripon 5.05
