Following Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal, West Ham are on the hunt for midfield reinforcements and Chelsea’s £40million-plus rated Conor Gallagher is one that is reportedly on their list of targets.

Chelsea are reportedly after more than £40million to part ways with Conor Gallagher this summer with West Ham being one of several potential suitors.

Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham, Brighton and Aston Villa, as well as clubs in Europe, have all been linked with Gallagher throughout the summer, but the Hammers become the latest name added to that list.

David Moyes’ side are on the hunt for midfield reinforcements after parting ways with club captain Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal for a record breaking £105million last week.

Gallagher is currently away with the Blues squad for their pre-season tour in the United States, and Sky Sports News understand that the club value him well in excess of £40million.

Despite being heavily linked with a move away, he still has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and Mauricio Pochettino is said to be planning for him to be part of the squad for the season ahead and the club would even be open to extending his terms.

The Hammers have been linked with plenty of midfielders throughout the window, and had a bid of £45million for Fulham’s Joao Palhinha rejected later last week.

They have also held talks with Juventus and Ajax over the availability of both Denis Zakaria, who spent last term on loan at Chelsea, and Edson Alvarez.

Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and Southampton skipper James Ward-Prowse have also been tipped as potential midfield candidates to arrive at the London Stadium ahead of next season.
