Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, as the Reds prepare for a host of departures.
The 27-year-old earned a move to the Champions of England following an impressive spell at Leeds United, where he made 234 appearances – contributing to 27 goals.
However, after joining Pep Guardiola’s side for £42m, Phillips failed to replicate the form he showed at Elland Road and made only 21 appearances in his opening campaign.
Playing only 593 minutes in all competitions, the future of the English midfielder has been left uncertain and a host of Premier League sides have shown interest.
Liverpool are the latest side to be linked with the former Leeds midfielder, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad for next season.

This need for midfield signings has increased as Fabinho and Jordan Henderson look set to leave the club this summer, after receiving bids from Saudi Arabia.
The red side of Merseyside have endured a difficult season, as Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to qualify for the Champions League and will play Europa League football for the first time in almost six-years.
This has impacted their negotiations in the summer window, as Jude Bellingham looked set to join the Reds, however after failing to qualify for Europe, Klopp’s side were pipped by Real Madrid.
Midfield reinforcements were still the priority for Liverpool this summer, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai moving to Anfield.
Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit of Phillips, as Newcastle United and West Ham are also reportedly interested in landing his signature.
Despite this interest, the former Leeds star has six-years remaining on his current deal, meaning any deal to sign the midfielder could face complications.
