Jason Weaver’s first tip on Friday at Newmarket on Day 2 of the July Festival comes in the opening race of the afternoon. The ITV Racing pundit is siding with Tagabawa for trainer Charlie Appleby to win at 11/4 odds with the best horse racing betting sites.
Tagabawa did remarkably well to hold on for a close-up sixth place finish 22 days ago at the Royal Ascot meeting considering the pace in the early stages was incredibly strong.
He was going in there with limited experience, and still looks as if he is very much on an upward curve and can bounce back here from a lenient-looking 97 rating.

When the pace increased, he found himself hitting a flat spot and did really well to hit the line strongly suggesting that the extra quarter of a mile is well within his compass. He is still climbing the ladder.
