Tote ‘World Pool’ Gets Under Starter’s Orders At Newmarket On Saturday

It’s the first of the English Classics this weekend as Newmarket racecourse get ready for another Guineas weekend. It’s also a meeting that all corners of the globe will have an interest in with this fixture the first of 18 UK and Ireland Tote World Pool days this year.

For those that don’t know,World Pool is a partnership of Totes from around the globe that gives horse racing fans the chance to bet into the pools from many different countries, including the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Australia. Meaning bigger pools and liquidity for players on all corners of the world – last year in 2022, the pools totalled £521m.

World Pool has announced there will be seven bet types for 2023.

Single leg bets
• Win – Get the winner of the race
• Place – Select a horse to be placed (Hong Kong place terms apply)
• Exacta – Bet on the first two horses in the correct order
• Trifecta – Sometimes known as the Tierce. Select the winner, the second,
and the third horse in the correct order
• Quinella – Pick the first two finishers in either order
• Swinger – Also known as the Quinella Place, pick two horses to finish 1st, 2nd,
or 3rd in any order

Multi-leg bets
• Treble – Bet on the winning horse in the first three races

Tote+ and Tote Guarantee Still on Offer

Tote have also announced that their popular Tote+ will still be on offer on most of the World Pool bets wagered online or via the app.
