In the latest Tottenham transfer news, Spurs are reportedly wanting to sign highly rated Brighton loanee Levi Colwill from London rivals Chelsea this summer.

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are among the many admirers of Chelsea‘s Levi Colwill, who is currently on loan at Brighton.

The 20-year-old’s gametime has been fairly limited throughout the campaign, but has impressed in recent times after forging a strong partnership with Lewis Dunk.

Colwill spent last term on loan with Championship side Huddersfield and helped them to the play-off final.

There was no place for him in the Chelsea squad for this season however. Due to this a decision was made to send him out on another loan.

Despite his loan to Brighton not being as successful as last season’s, Chelsea are said to have no intention of selling their Cobham academy product.

Liverpool and Manchester City have also reportedly been tracking the defender, along with most of the Premier League.

Even though the Blues would like to keep hold of him, it may be out of their hands.

After their £600 million splurge, Chelsea may be forced to sell some of their most prized assets to comply with financial fair play regulations.

Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher are the two who are said to be most likely to leave. Like Colwill, they are both academy products.

Mount’s most likely destination is Liverpool, whilst Newcastle are interested in signing Gallagher.

This could open a door for Tottenham, who are desperately in need of defensive reinforcements in the summer.

Colwill has two years left on his contract though, which likely means a move for the Englishman won’t come cheap.
