French news outlet Le Parisien are reporting that Ligue 1 leaders PSG have made Harry Kane their top attacking target for this summer’s transfer window.

The news comes amid strong interest from Manchester United, who are favourites to land the striker.

United are currently priced at around 11/8 to sign Kane, with PSG not currently in the running when it comes to the bookmakers’ odds.

But now with French media reporting their interest in the Tottenham captain, United could face stiff competition for his signature.

In the report, it is detailed that PSG and Tottenham’s chairmen share a strong relationship.

Nasser El-Khalifi and Daniel Levy reportedly met earlier this year for discussions into a possible investment into Spurs.

This could now complicate United’s position in the race for the England captain. It could see the club drawn into a similar transfer saga to that of Frenkie de Jong’s last summer.

The French top-flight leaders’ interest likely comes from the impending departure of Lionel Messi.

Messi is set to leave Paris this summer at the end of his current contract.

Kane’s signature would also likely benefit Kylian Mbappe. Le Parisien’s says his arrival would give Mbappe more freedom to play in his preferred attacking position from the left, combining with a central striker, as he does for France.

Erik ten Hag has also made Kane his priority for the summer, as the Red Devils search for fresh attacking options.

Wout Weghorst is unlikely to re-sign in the summer, with Anthony Martial expected to leave Old Trafford.

This leaves Marcus Rashford as the club’s only recognised senior striker, creating a desperate need for attacking reinforcements in the next transfer window.
