According to UK betting sites Manchester United are 5/2 favourites to sign England’s new record goalscorer Harry Kane, as Erik ten Hag continues his search for a striker.
Tottenham’s talisman has yet again shown why he is regarded as one of the best strikers in the world this season, as he consistently finds the back of the net. The England international has scored 21 goals in 28 Premier League matches- only Erling Haaland has more (28).
However, this level of quality has not been matched by his teammates in north London, causing manager Antonio Conte to be sacked after a run of poor performances. The Italian’s final post-match press conference was the final nail in the coffin, as the former Inter manager started to lambaste his players.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from his boyhood club for years now and a deal almost came to fruition, as the striker looked destined for Manchester City. However, talks between the clubs broke down which caused the striker to stay in London for another year.
England’s captain broke goal scoring history once again, becoming the nation’s most prolific player of all time. Reaching 54 goals in an England shirt, after his penalty against Italy saw him overtake Wayne Rooney’s previous record of 53.

It’s the red side of Manchester that are interested in the Brit this summer, as Erik ten Hag continues his hunt for a number nine. Cristiano Ronaldo’s shocking exit has left the position needing reinforcement, as loanee Wout Weghorst is not deemed a ‘permanent solution’.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of prolific centre forwards, including the likes of Victor Osimhen and Goncalo Ramos. Both have been ruthless this year, tallying over 20 goals each in their respective competitions, which has put United on high alert.
Despite ten Hag’s interest there are still a host of clubs keen on enticing Kane away from north London. Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich are amongst those said clubs, as the 2021 Champions League winners are yet to replace Robert Lewandowski.
