SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 NEWMARKET ITV RACING TIPS: Very tough opener on day two at the Newmarker Craven Meeting but a chance is taken with the Andrew Balding runner ELWASME (e/w). This 3 year-old will have William Buick riding, which is the first plus, while a recent 4th at Southwell earlier this month was a solid-looking return run. He’s sure to have improved from that outing seeing as it came off 202 days off the track and the return to the turf, plus this first run in a handicap will also help. Cobalt Blue for trainer Roger Varian and Gulmarg, who was a close third at Kempton last time, can do best of the rest.

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 NEWMARKET ITV RACING TIPS: At a nice price it could pay to have a small interest in the Tom Tate runner EQUIANO SPRINGS (e/w). This is because the yard boasts an incredible 56% strike-rate (5 from 9) with their 4+ year-olds at Newmarket. This horse will also have Andrea Atzeni riding, who has ridden the winner of this race twice in the last 5 years. The final icing on the cake is the horse has run on the Rowley Mile four times in the past and won each time! Of the rest, trainers John Quinn and Charles Hills both have their horses in good form so Mr Wagyu and Orzaio are interesting too.

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 NEWMARKET ITV RACING TIPS: This Listed race is a prize the John Gosden camp have won three times in the last 7 runnings, including with their Epsom Derby winner Golden Horn in 2015. He runs INTINSO this year to keep up his good record and after a nice win on debut at Newcastle last year looks a nice prospect. He also holds a Derby entry @ 25/1, so will need to justify that with a good run here. Godolphin’s pair – Bold Act and Regal Honour – should not be far away.

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 NEWMARKET ITV RACING TIPS: The feature race on day two is the Nell Gwyn Stakes – a race that produced the 1000 Guineas winner 12 months ago. This year the one to beat looks to be the Frankie Dettori-ridden COPPICE, who impressed on debut at Kempton last October. She’s already as short as 7/1 for the 1000 Guineas next month and this is a race Frankie Dettori loves to win – he’s landed the prize 7 times. Of the rest, it’s interesting that William Haggas is upping his Girl Racer in grade so soon and Godolphin’s Fairy Cross is already a Group 3 winner having won the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last season.
