Premier League leaders Arsenal are reportedly facing a major dilemma with the future of out on-loan youngster Folarin Balogun.

The Athletic are reporting that the youngster wants to be the Gunners’ number 9 for next season. However, due to Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah’s long-term contracts, it looks to be an unlikely scenario.

Balogun is currently out on-loan with Ligue 1 side Reims, and has bagged an impressive 18 league goals this term.

He spent the latter half of last season on loan with Championship side Middlesbrough but is now said to be looking for something more permanent.

The 21-year-old has reportedly made it clear to the Gunners that he doesn’t want another loan move, with his exploits in France attracting interest from top European sides.

AC Milan, Inter, Marseille, Monaco and RB Leipzig are all believed to hold an interest in the youngster, with his form also creating an international tug of war between England and the USA for his international allegiance.

A current England under-21 international, Balogun is eligible to represent the States due to his birth in New York City.

Recent reports have claimed that the forward travelled across the pond in March to meet up with the USMNT head coach Anthony Hudson ahead of a proposed switch.

Whether he makes the switch at international and club level remains to be seen, but what is certain is that Arsenal have a big decision to make on their Hale End product.
