Simon Jordan has labelled Harry Kane’s reaction to Abdoulaye Doucoure’s shove as “pathetic”, as Everton fought back to secure a point against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.

Everton were reduced to 10 men against Tottenham Hotpsur on Monday evening thanks to Abdoulaye Doucoure shoving Harry Kane in the face.

Kane went down dramatically, however it was a clear red card offence.

The England captain then opened the scoring for the visitors from the penalty spot, much to the dismay of Toffees fans.

With just minutes to go though, Lucas Moura was shown a red card for a nasty challenge on Everton defender Michael Keane.

Keane was in the midst of it again just only two minutes later. The Englishman struck a thunderbolt from distance to level the scoring as Hugo Lloris just stood and watched.

Tottenham could provide no response to Keane’s late effort. The north Londoners were held to a draw against the relegation candidates in their first match since Antonio Conte’s departure.

Not only have Spurs been criticised for the result, but captain Kane has also received criticisms for his reaction to Doucoure’s shove.

Simon Jordan on Harry Kane

Reacting on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan blasted Kane for his actions at Goodison Park.

“It’s pitiful, it’s difficult to understand,” Jordan said.

“The other sports must look at these guys and go, ‘what in God’s name are you all about?’. They might look at them with envy because the financial rewards in the Premier League are so vast compared with another sport, but they’ve got to look at them and go ‘what?’.

“You’ve got rugby players being hit full tilt, cricket players having balls bowled at them at 90mph, boxers getting punched in the face as a matter of course, and you’ve got our footballers who the moment they get touched are rolling around as if they got shot.

“It’s pathetic. It’s right to call it what it is and it’s pathetic. I genuinely think it’s pathetic. I don’t know why they don’t look at themselves and go, ‘well that’s a little bit embarrassing.’”
