Former England striker Chris Sutton has delivered his prediction for Man City vs Liverpool, stating that he fancies Manchester City “strongly in this one”.
Following the culmination of the international window, the return of the Premier League is finally upon us.
And what a game it is to kick us off, as Liverpool take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola go head to head, after City went into the internationals in better form.
Guardiola’s side had won their last six games in all competitions ahead of the break, including a 7-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the second-leg of their last-16 Champions League tie.
Liverpool had recorded just two wins in their last six prior to the internationals, falling to a disappointing 1-0 loss away at Bournemouth last time out in the league.
City will be without Phil Foden, with Erling Haaland also being a doubt, as the Reds will be without Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsay.

Klopp’s side may be inspired by the return of Luis Diaz, as the Colombian took part in first-team training this week.

Plenty of pundits have offered their predicitions ahead of the clash, including former England and Celtic striker Chris Sutton.

Chris Sutton Man City vs Liverpool Prediction
“Manchester City cannot afford to slip up here and lose any more ground in the title race. This is a must-win game for them.” Sutton said in his BBC column.
“Liverpool will play on the front foot and try to take the game to City and I am sure they will cause them some problems, but I still worry about the Reds at the other end.
“Their high defensive line has been found out plenty of times this season and they are so inconsistent that I just don’t trust them to hold out. I fancy City strongly in this one.”
