ITV Racing to Broadcast FIVE Aintree Races Each Day

The 2023 Aintree Grand National will be run on Saturday 15th April, with the race at 5:15pm.

We can expect around 10 million UK residents to tune into the Grand National – which is about 1/7th of the total population.

It’s a race the ‘once-a-year’ punters and the sweepstake players crawl out of the woodwork, but the great news is that you can watch the big race LIVE on ITV.

As well as the main event on Saturday 15th April, the ITV cameras are also at Aintree across the three-day meeting to show FIVE races each day.

The daily ITV coverage will start at 2:20pm on Thursday (13th April) and Friday (14th April), and at 2:25pm on Grand National Day (15th Saturday).

The opening ITV Aintree race at the 2023 meeting will be the Jewson Anniversary 4-y-o Juvenile Hurdle at 2:20pm on Thursday – a race the Milton Harris-trained Knight Salute won 12 months ago.

Away from the Grand National, there are other main races across the meeting including the Grade Ones – Liverpool Hurdle, Turners Mersey Novices’ Hurdle, Maghull Novices’ Steeple Chase, Sefton Novices’ Hurdle, Marsh Steeple Chase, Top Novices’ Hurdle, Aintree Hurdle, Aintree Bowl, Manifesto Novices’ Steeple Chase and the Anniversary 4-y-o Juvenile Hurdle.

ITV Racing Expected to Have Ex Jockeys AP McCoy, Mick Fitzgerald and Ruby Walsh Helping Them Out for 2023 Grand National

With Ed Chamberlin at the helm, with the likes of Matt Chapman, Luke Harvey and Oli Bell assisting, the ITV horse racing team are also expected to have three ex- Grand National winning jockeys helping out.

Mick Fitzgerald won the Grand National back in 1996 on Rough Quest and famously said after the race ” that was better than sex!”

Ruby Walsh has two Grand National wins to his name when guiding home the well-backed Papillon in 2000 for his father Ted Walsh, and added to that in 2005 with Hedgehunter.

AP McCoy had to wait a while to get his National win – but it came in 2010 when he rode the JP McManus-owned Don’t Push It to victory.
