Manchester United have seen their Premier League title odds drift to 40/1 following their heavy 7-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield this evening.
Liverpool dealt Manchester United‘s Premier League title hopes a major blow this evening, as they defeated their bitter rivals by a whopping seven goals at Anfield.
The Red Devils came into the tie in fantastic form, having lost just one match since returning from the World Cup in Qatar.
A fairly even first half affair saw Liverpool go into the break one goal to the good. Cody Gakpo netted the opener, curling home brilliantly at the far post after being played in by Andy Robertson.

Despite going into the break a goal down, United were completely still in the game. It all fell apart in the second half however, as Liverpool netted a further six goals.
Two came in the first five minutes of the second half, as Darwin Nunez added the second, before Gakpo claimed a third for the Reds.

After assisting Gakpo’s second, it was Mohamed Salah’s turn to get in on the goalscoring act. The Egyptian volleyed home brilliantly to extend Liverpool‘s lead to 4-0 – equalling Robbie Fowler’s Premier League goalscoring record for the club in the process.
It was clearly over for United by this point, but that didn’t stop the hosts.
Nunez doubled his tally for the evening after 75 minutes, heading home past David de Gea from a Jordan Henderson cross.
The introduction of Roberto Firmino was a welcome one late on in the tie. Earlier this week, it was announced that the Brazilian would leave the club at the end of the campaign.
Salah added the sixth for the Reds – going clear of Fowler’s record as Liverpool‘s all-time highest Premier League goalscorer.
And it was a perfect ending for Firmino, as he tapped home the seventh at Anfield to secure a mighty victory.
IT FINISHES 7-0! 😱

It was nothing short of a terrible performance from Erik ten Hag’s men.
The Red Devils are now 14 points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.
