Antonio Conte has seen his odds to be sacked by Tottenham Hotspur shortened after their 1-0 FA Cup fifth round defeat to Sheffield United.
A rotated Tottenham Hotspur side made the journey up to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United in the FA Cup fifth round last night.
Regular starters Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero were all named on the bench as Richarlison led the line for Spurs.
It was another fixture without Antonio Conte in the dugout, as he continued his recovery after gallbladder surgery back in his native Italy. Assistant manager Cristian Stellini took charge for the tie, as he looked to keep his 100% victory record in-tact.
The first 45 was a fairly evenly contested half. Spurs enjoyed 51% of possession, and the majority of the opportunities, but couldn’t take advantage.
Richarlison and Lucas Moura had the better of the opportunities – being denied by Wes Foderingham and the crossbar respectively.
It didn’t take long for Spurs to introduce Kane in the second-half. Their skipper came on after 65 minutes as they searched for the opener.
Two injuries for Sheffield United saw the vital introductions of Sander Berge and Iliman Ndiaye for the final 20 minutes of the tie.
And it was the latter that made the the difference in the end. The Senegalese international tricked the Spurs defenders with some slick footwork, before smashing home past Fraser Forster for the opener.

Stellini’s men gave everything in response, but couldn’t fashion an equaliser.
Spurs are now set for another trophyless season.
This result has seen Conte’s odds in the next Premier League manager to be sacked odds shorten, now priced at 20/1.
