Former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Newcastle United fans were 10 times better than Man United fans at Sunday’s Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Manchester United ended a six-year trophy drought on Sunday, as they defeated Newcastle United 2-0 at Wembley to lift the Carabao Cup.
Newcastle were hoping to earn their first major honour since 1969, but it wasn’t to be for the Magpies.
Over 40,000 of the Newcastle faithful made the journey down to London – pretty much taking over the capital city.
It was a near sell-out Wembley Stadium – with a fierce atmosphere throughout the tie.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Casemiro secured the victory for United, despite an attempted second half resurgence from Eddie Howe’s men.
The Premier League‘s most northern club may not have covered themselves in glory on the pitch, but they did off of it. Magpies received plenty of praise on social media, as the fans sang their hearts out all the way until the final whistle.
One person who has been debating the performance of Newcastle and Man United fans on Sunday is Gabby Agbonlahor, as he discussed with Alan Brazil on talkSPORT.
Agbonlahor’s Comments
“Watching the final at the weekend, after Man United had won, the celebrations weren’t ecstatic.” Agbonlahor stated.
“I had a friend who was there, he’s a Man United fan and he took his son.
“He said that the Newcastle United fans were 10 times better in the stadium than the Manchester United fans.
“It’s a fact.”
Confused by Agbonlahor’s attack of Manchester United fans, Brazil questioned what the former Villa forward’s point was.
“I’m just saying, I’m just saying.
“They’ve got a big fanbase Man Utd but they weren’t great in the stadium at the weekend.” said Agbonlahor.
“#NUFC fans were 10x better than #MUFC!”
“They’ve got a big fanbase, but they weren’t great. The celebrations weren’t ecstatic!”
