The January transfer window has only just ended, but the summer transfer window is fast approaching. We’ve got Frankie De Jong transfer news as clubs circle around him.
De Jong transfer news was a major talking point of last summer. Man United were apparently interested in the Dutch midfielder. A move to Manchester would have reunited De Jong with his former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag. Unfortunately, a move never materialised for De Jong, leaving him at financially unstable Barcelona.
Club officials at the Red Devils are planning two “bombshell” signings. One of those could well be the Barça player.
The De Jong transfer news comes a week after Man United knocked Barcelona out of the Europa League. Man United won 2-1 on the night, 4-3 on aggregate, to send De Jong’s current side crashing out. De Jong’s performance did catch the eye of many fans, both on the side of Barcelona and Man United.

De Jong Transfer News: Who Else Is Interested?
Free spending Chelsea were rumoured to be interested, but the signing of Enzo Fernández in the same position may put a halt to that.
PSG and Bayern Munich are also looking at the midfielder. Expect the big clubs across Europe to flock to him.
There’s also the chance that he might not leave Barça. Despite the news Man United are still interested in De Jong, it’s worth remembering that he turned them down last summer to stay in Spain. Even though the club are going through a rough spell financially, they’re still one of the biggest clubs in Europe who are on the rise again on the pitch. They’ve still got the pull factor to keep big players and draw in new world-class talent.
