Everton have today sacked manager Frank Lampard after less than a year in charge at Goodison Park, after weeks of speculation over the 44-year-old’s future.

Their defeat to West Ham United on Saturday was Everton’s ninth loss in 12 Premier League games, and they sit second bottom of the table, on just 15 points above Southampton – who have improved in recent games.
Everton are now looking for their sixth permanent manager in five years, you can look at who the favourites to take over are here. The likes of former Burnley boss Sean Dyche and ex-Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa are rumoured to be interested in the job.
There was some support from Everton fans before the game, with a few meeting him ahead of the fixture at the London Stadium.

The Merseysiders have only won three games all season, and sit two points off safety and are in real danger of being relegated from the top flight for the first time since 1951.
It’s said that Lampard was informed of his sacking over the phone by Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s main shareholder.
He replaced Rafa Benitez last January, and helped guide the Toffees to survival with several late-season victories against Manchester United, Chelsea, Leicester. They then had their survival confirmed after coming from 2-0 down to beat Crystal Palace 3-2.
