Soccerlens Premiership 2007/2008 Preview

Updated

on

I’m updating this page as the reviews are put up – they should all be up by the end of the day.

Transfer hype, rampant speculation and the flush memory of end-season performances can often cloud the judgment of would-be football hacks.

Here at Soccerlens I’ve taken a different approach – I look at long-term trends and the overall picture instead of trying to make sense out of one-off events.

So while the world is screaming that Arsenal will suffer because of Henry’s loss, we know that Wenger and Arsenal have had a whole season to prepare for it (ok, half a season). And while Liverpool and Tottenham are being talked up by their respective fans, both clubs under-performed last season and both managers made the same mistakes last term as they did the term before.

It’s not easy, so I’m liable to make a few mistakes (correct me if you feel I’m wrong).

In previewing each club’s season I’ve looked at the season as a whole and also looked at the following points of discussion:

  • Manager Status
  • Transfer Analysis
  • Players to watch
  • August Fixtures
  • Expectations
  • Predictions
