Wolves’ Premier League relegation odds have been priced at 13/2 after losing 2-1 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park this evening.
Wolves’ Premier League survival hopes took a blow this evening, as they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The relegation battle remains wide open as just five points separate 20th and 12th in the Premier League table.
A victory for Julen Lopetegui’s side would’ve taken them six points clear of the drop zone.
They came into this tie with plenty of confidence, having defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in their last league outing.
It wasn’t the start Wolves were looking for however, as the hosts took the lead after 26 minutes.
Alexander Isak expertly glanced a header past Jose Sa from a Kieran Trippier free-kick to open the scoring.

Joe Willock almost added a second just minutes later, but his effort from an Allan Saint-Maximin cross deflected wide of the mark.
Bruno Guimaraes rattled the Wolves crossbar after 35 minutes, seeing Wolves let off going into the break with a one goal deficit.
Hwang Hee-Chan was introduced on the 70 minute mark, and made an instant impact to level the scoring.
The South Korean tapped into an empty net after Trippier slipped and misplaced his clearance.

Unfortunately for Lopetegui and his men however, Miguel Almiron restored the hosts’ lead.
The Paraguayan was also introduced as a substitute, and had a huge impact on the game.
Willock’s lay-off saw Almiron curl home into the far corner of the net to hand the Magpies the advantage once more.

Wolves threw everything at an equaliser, but it wasn’t to be.
They now sit three points clear of the drop zone, as they host Leeds United next Saturday.
