William Saliba has signed a new contract with Arsenal that will keep the Frenchman at the club until 2027, as he joins Reiss Nelson in signing a new long term deal with the Gunners.
Saliba enjoyed a breakthrough season for Arsenal in the Premier League, after spending the past two seasons on loan in France for Nice and Marseille.
Saliba quickly became a fan favourite at the Emirates last season, but there were concerns the Gunners would lose their star this summer amid interest from PSG.
Despite the interest from PSG and the reportedly high demands of Saliba’s new contract, Mikel Arteta and Edu were able to persuade their centre back to sign an extension.

Arsenal’s young star became a rock at the back for Mikel Arteta last season and he impressed by playing the full 90 minutes in every single one of their first 27 games of the season.
The Gunners struggled towards the end of last season without Saliba at the back, when he 22-year-old picked up a season ending back injury in March.
Many have said that the reason Arsenal failed to challenge for the Premier League title in the latter months of the season is due to Saliba’s injury, with no cover for the young star after he was sidelined.
The Gunners will be more prepared for injuries at the back next season however, as a deal with Ajax defender Jurrien Timber was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.

The Gunners have already confirmed Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and finally Declan Rice signings in the past two weeks, in what can already be classed as an impressive window.
