But, with these odds covering all of the UK, this would also involve Scotland and the more northern parts of England – those that are normally first to report snow flurries when these cold blasts hit.

This is backed up with Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh all the big favourites from the main UK towns and cities to get a White Christmas. While Belfast, in Northern Ireland, could have a chance too at 9/4, if the odds are to believed.

London is now priced at 8/1 (from 10/1).

London Has 11% Chance Of Having a White Christmas

With London generally warmer, then the odds for the capital having a White Christmas are 8/1, with the bookies cutting them a few points in recent days.

London is still a bigger price in this market than places like Liverpool and Newcastle, who are both 4/1. With Leeds and Sheffield just 5/2 to be hit with a White Christmas.

At these odds, this means the best UK betting sites are giving London an 11% chance of having snowfall on Christmas Day. With this percentage increasing to 28.6% if you live in Leeds.

Therefore, if you are a Londoner and you love the idea of having a White Christmas – maybe you need to book an Airbnb a bit further up North for the big day.

16/1 That London Records Its Coldest December On Record

Despite the chances of a London White Christmas just 11% (according to betting) the recent cold spell has also led the odds compilers pricing up if December will be the coldest month recorded ever in the capital.

Temperatures in London were -1 degrees in parts on the opening day of the month. This has seen the odds on this December being the chilliest in London cut to 16/1.

The UK’s coldest December since the Met Office records began in 1910 was recorded in 2010. With the month that year having an average temperature of just -1.

However, even though Londoners have been reaching for their thermals during the first part of December, the longer-term forecast into the middle of the month suggests temperatures will be on the rise.

So, if this forecast is accurate, it’s unlikely this December will be the coldest on record – with an average -1 to beat.
