SportsLens experts have priced up their exclusive White Christmas odds and are convinced some parts of the United Kingdom will be celebrating with a White Christmas.

Christmas Day is fast approaching as we enter December, and with Brits dreaming of snowfall across the land – just how likely are we to see a White Christmas where you live?

The top UK betting sites are also saying that some parts of the UK will definitely have a White Christmas, with 1/2 the price for ANY SNOWFALL on the 25th.

Defined by the Met Office, a White Christmas occurs when one snowflake or more is ‘observed falling in the 24 hours of 25 December somewhere in the UK’, which technically means 2021 was a White Christmas despite very few people actually seeing snow.

This is because one or more snowflake was reported to have fallen in the United Kingdom, with the majority coming in Scotland, and the latest SportsLens White Christmas odds suggest that a repeat is likely in 2023 – with three Scottish cities leading our exclusive market.

White Christmas Odds: Aberdeen Odds-On As Scottish Cities Lead The Way

Early winter weather forecasts are predicting snowfall as early as November 25 in some parts of the United Kingdom – a month in advance of Christmas Day.

At the moment, it’s just a guessing game whether we will actually see a White Christmas, as the Met Office say that they can only accurately forecast if snow is likely on Christmas Day just five days beforehand.

What we can do though, is look at previous years, and when studying the records all the way back to 1960 – the Met Office reports that snow has fallen somewhere in the United Kingdom on Christmas Day 38 of the last 52 years, a percentage chance of 73%.

It’ll come as surprise to few to see three Scottish cities leading our market, with Aberdeen, the northernmost city in our exclusive White Christmas odds, priced as odds-on favourites 11/10 with an implied probability of 47.6%.

Like Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh have seen their fair share of White Christmases, and they follow in second priced at 11/8 with an implied probability of 42.1%.

Manchester and Liverpool have been handed more favourable odds than London, with the former two priced at 7/2 and 4/1 respectively, while the English capital has been handed a 8/1 price for a White Christmas. Temperatures in the big city have reached as low as -4 in the lead up to December, so we could see a first true White Christmas in London in almost 20 years.

Brighton is the southernmost city in our market, and with the largest odds at 20/1 as well as an implied probability of 4.8% – Christmas snowfall looks to be an unlikely prospect on the south coast.
