Title chasers Liverpool and Arsenal go toe-to-toe at Anfield on Saturday in what is expected to be a titanic clash between two of the Premier League’s finest teams.
The Reds will be looking to get back to winning ways after being held to a 0-0 draw by rivals Manchester United on match week 17.
A win for the Gunners will guarantee them top spot at Christmas but Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t tasted victory on the red half of Merseyside in the league since 2012.
Chris Kavanagh has been appointed as the Liverpool vs Arsenal referee and he will be assisted by Simon Bennett and Dan Robathan. Craig Pawson will act as fourth official. VAR duties fall to David Coote and Lee Betts.

Has Chris Kavanagh Refereed Liverpool Or Arsenal This Season?
Manchester-born Chris Kavanagh has refereed three Liverpool games so far in the 2023/24 Premier League season. The first match came back in September when the Reds ran out 3-1 winners over West Ham at Anfield. Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota all got on the scoresheet. Kavanagh issued two bookings, both to Hammers players.
His next match was also at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in October. Salah, Nunez and Jota were on target again and Kavanagh booked five players, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister seeing yellow for the home side.
Kavanagh had the whistle when Klopp’s side travelled to the Etihad Stadium in November to take on champions Manchester City. Erling Haaland scored for the Cityzens before Alexander-Arnold’s late equaliser ensured a share of the spoils. Nunez, Joel Matip and Wataru Endo were all booked in the last 15 minutes.
The only Arsenal game Kavanagh has officiated in the 2023/24 campaign came back in October as the Gunners fought back to snatch a 2-2 draw against London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer and Mykhaylo Mudryk scored for the hosts before Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard replied late on. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Eddie Nketiah and Ben White were all booked.
