Cheltenham’s December Meeting takes place this Friday (15th December 2023) and Saturday (16th December 2023) with the big December Gold Cup scheduled for 1:50. It is the fourth race on the seven-race card on the second day of this illustrious horse racing meeting.

14-time Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls has a golden touch in this race and heads the success table with five wins in the contest.
Nicholls won this race last in 2018 with the legendary Frodon. That was the second time that the classy 11-year-old had won the race, triumphing two years prior in 2016 as well.
His other victories came with Poquelin in 2009 and 2010. Interestingly, both the Nicholls-trained dual winners of the race are the only two horses to achieve such feat.
