Both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in OGC Nice’s 23-year-old centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who has quickly become one of Europe’s hottest prospects.
Who Is Jean-Clair Todibo?
Todibo, 23, stands at 6ft 3in tall and plays at the heart of Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice’s backline, who sit in second place behind European giants PSG.
The Frenchman began his career with Toulouse, progressing through the ranks before earning a move to Barcelona on a free transfer in July 2019.
He made just four appearances for the Catalans and was loaned out three times to Schalke, Benfica and Nice. His move to the south east of France was made permanent in February 2021 for €8.5m plus €7m in add-ons.
Todibo holds the record for the fastest red card in Ligue 1 history after being sent for an early bath nine seconds into Nice’s 1-0 loss at home to Angers in September 2022.
🚨⚪️ Understand Tottenham have now opened talks to sign Jean Clair Todibo in January.
He’s high on Tottenham list, not easy deal with OGC Nice — but talks now starting.

Nice have conceded just nine goals in the league this season, the best defensive record in the league by a significant margin.
Todibo is reportedly Ange Postecoglou‘s top target in the January transfer window as Spurs struggle with injuries to Micky van de Ven and other key defensive pieces.
Last summer, Manchester United did their best to tempt the youngster into a move to Old Trafford but he opted to remain in France – citing ‘guarantees’ as a decisive factor.
Luckily for the Red Devils, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is on the verge of finalising a deal to buy 25% of the club, also owns OGC Nice and could have the final say on the player’s transfer destination.
Todibo appears to be one of Europe’s most exciting talents and at the age of just 23, he undoubtedly has a glittering career in the sport ahead of him.
