The Premier League referees and match officials for match week 13 have been announced ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, including those who will be on VAR duty.

There’s some huge games coming up including Manchester City vs Liverpool, Newcastle vs Chelsea, Brentford vs Arsenal, Tottenham vs Aston Villa and Everton vs Manchester United. The best UK betting sites has all the latest odds ahead of the action.

Manchester City Vs Liverpool – Saturday 25th November – 12:30pm

Referee: Chris Kavanagh. Assistants: Simon Bennett, Dan Robathan. Fourth official: Thomas Bramall. VAR: Stuart Attwell. Assistant VAR: Tim Wood.

The appointment of Chris Kavanagh has certainly angered some Reds fans on social media. The Greater Manchester born referee is yet to show a red card this season and has issued 21 yellows in his five games this season. Saturday’s blockbuster clash could very well see those stats increase.

Burnley Vs West Ham – Saturday 25th November – 3pm

Referee: Sam Barrott. Assistants: Marc Perry, Steve Meredith. Fourth official: Matt Donohue. VAR: Craig Pawson. Assistant VAR: Constantine Hatzidakis.

Referee Sam Barrott has officiated in the EFL more than the Premier League this season, issuing 15 yellows cards and zero reds in his four games in charge. He has refereed one Clarets game in 2023/24, when they lost 2-1 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in October.

Luton Vs Crystal Palace – Saturday 25th November – 3pm

Referee: Jarred Gillett. Assistants: James Mainwaring, Mat Wilkes. Fourth official: James Linington. VAR: Rob Jones. Assistant VAR: Ian Hussin.

Jarred Gillett is the man in the middle at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, having yet to officiate a Luton or Crystal Palace game in his four Premier League fixtures this season. Gillett has awarded one penalty, one red card and 15 yellows so far.

Newcastle Vs Chelsea – Saturday 25th November – 3pm

Referee: Simon Hooper. Assistants: Adrian Holmes, Simon Long. Fourth official: Jeremy Simpson. VAR: John Brooks. Assistant VAR: Neil Davies.

Simon Hooper was in charge of the infamous Tottenham vs Liverpool game earlier this season, a game in which was littered with controversy. Hooper is yet to officiate a Newcastle fixture this season but he has refereed a Chelsea match, the 2-0 loss to Brentford in October.

Nottingham Forest Vs Brighton – Saturday 25th November – 3pm

Referee: Anthony Taylor. Assistants: Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn. Fourth official: Andy Davies. VAR: Graham Scott. Assistant VAR: Mark Scholes.

Anthony Taylor has awarded five penalties in his 10 Premier League games so far this season, including two in the 4-4 draw between Chelsea and Manchester City before the international break. Taylor has overseen two Brighton games this season, one of which he awarded a spot-kick, and in his only Nottingham Forest game, he issued a red card.

Sheffield Utd Vs Bournemouth – Saturday 25th November – 3pm

Referee: Andy Madley. Assistants: Harry Lennard, Nick Hopton. Fourth official: Sunny Gill. VAR: Peter Bankes. Assistant VAR: Stuart Burt.

Andy Madley has distributed 44 yellow cards in his eight Premier League fixtures this season, an average of 5.5 per game. Madley is yet to officiate Bournemouth this season but has refereed one Sheffield Utd match, the 2-2 draw with Everton in September.

Brentford Vs Arsenal – Saturday 25th November – 5:30pm

Referee: Tim Robinson. Assistants: Eddie Smart, Nick Greenhalgh. Fourth official: Josh Smith. VAR: Michael Salisbury. Assistant VAR: Wade Smith.

Tim Robinson was the man in charge when Arsenal thrashed Sheffield Utd 5-0 in October, but Saturday’s clash will be the first Brentford game he has officiated this season in the Premier League. So far, Robinson has issued zero red cards, 37 bookings and awarded one penalty.

Tottenham Vs Aston Villa – Sunday 26th November – 2pm

Referee: Rob Jones. Assistants: Tim Wood, Wade Smith. Fourth official: Tim Robinson. VAR: Jarred Gillett. Assistant VAR: James Mainwaring.

Rob Jones was at the centre of a VAR controversy when he was in charge of the north London derby in September. He was overruled after he decided originally not to give Arsenal a penalty against Tottenham, something of which angered manager Ange Postecoglou. His only Aston Villa game this season was the 1-1 draw with Wolves at Molineux.

Everton Vs Man Utd – Sunday 26th November – 4:30pm

Referee: John Brooks. Assistants: Lee Betts, Darren Cann. Fourth official: Andy Madley. VAR: Chris Kavanagh. Assistant VAR: Eddie Smart.

John Brooks has issued four red cards and 40 yellows so far this season in the Premier League, and came under fire in his only Manchester United game he has officiated. He ruled out what appeared to be a fairly good Scott McTominay goal for a foul in the build-up by Harry Maguire in the recent win over Fulham. He is yet to take charge of an Everton fixture in 2023/24.

Fulham Vs Wolves – Monday 27th November – 8pm

Referee: Michael Salisbury. Assistants: Richard West, Scott Ledger. Fourth official: Darren England. VAR: Stuart Attwell. Assistant VAR: Simon Bennett.

Michael Salisbury has taken charge of two Fulham games this season in which he issued seen yellow cards. He hasn’t dismissed anyone so far in 2023/24 and Monday’s clash at Craven Cottage will be the first Wolves fixture he has officiated. Salisbury has also given two penalties across his five Premier League fixtures.
