The likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes have been two of Europe’s most creative players in recent years. However this year with the increased competition in the Premier League, a variety of players have rivalled them. So, who has created the most chances this season?

10. Trent Alexander-Arnold (48)

Starting off this list is Liverpool’s star right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold. who has created 48 chances for his teammates so far. Averaging 2.2 chances per 90, the England international has been a constant threat this season, despite his defensive woes.

The Reds have struggled this season, sitting seven points off the top four places and suffering an embarrassing defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16. Alexander-Arnold failed to tame Vinicius Junior, as the Brazilian contributed to four goals over both legs.

9. James Maddison (48)

The first player in this list that does not play for the ‘big six’ is Leicester City midfielder James Maddison. The 26-year-old has been a shining light in the Foxes dismal season, despite missing a large chunk of fixtures through injury.

His contribution to Brendan Rodger’s side has been vital, scoring nine and assisting six in a team that has struggled to score this year.

8. Pascal Gross (51)

A player that may be a surprise entry in this list is Brighton’s Pascal Gross. The Seagulls have stunned the Premier League after continuing to perform despite Graham Potter’s departure. Roberto de Zerbi has transformed their style of play and Gross has been vital part of that.

The German creates 2.1 chances per 90, which is more than the likes of Mohammed Salah (1.8) and Gabriel Martinelli (1.7) , highlighting the quality Gross has shown this season.

7. Andreas Pereira (56)

Next on the list is former Manchester United player Andreas Pereira, who has found a new lease of life at Fulham. The Brazilian has formed a great relationship with Harrison Reed and Palhinha, that has seen Marco Silva’s side move up to European contention.

6. Bukayo Saka (61)

One of the best players in the Premier League, Bukayo Saka has established himself amongst Europe’s elite this season. The England international is now the first player to reach double figures in both goals and assists this season, helping Arsenal with their thrilling title challenge.

The winger creates 2.3 chances per 90 and has even created more ‘big’ chances that Bernado Silva (6) and Riyad Mahrez (5).

5. James Ward-Prowse (62)

Breaking into the top five of this list is Southampton star, James Ward-Prowse, showing there is more tho his game than just scoring free kicks. The Saints are in danger of relegation this season, sitting bottom of the Premier League but the England international has had a stellar campaign.

Rumours of a move elsewhere have started to circulate, with Tottenham and Newcastle both shoing interest in the 28-year-old.

4. Martin Odegaard (62)

Arsenal have been superb this season and no player has been more vital than their captain, Martin Odegaard. The former Real Madrid player is in contention for the PFA Player Of The Year after contributing to 16 goals in 27 Premier League matches.

The Norwegian has established himself for the first time since joining Real Madrid aged 15 and leads the way at Arsenal for Man Of The Match awards.

3. Bruno Fernandes (71)

The Portuguese international has continued to impress at Manchester United, adapting a more matured role under Erik ten Hag. Being one of three players to create over 70 chances in the league, his vision and technical ability has helped Manchester United win their first piece of silverware in six-years.

He also ranks second for ‘big’ chances created (19) with only a certain world-class player making more, who we may see later in this list.

2. Kieran Trippier (73)

Newcastle have been outstanding since their recent takeover, reaching their first cup final in over 60 years as the Magpies lost 2-0 to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final. One man that has been worth every penny is former Tottenham player, Kieran Trippier.

The England international has made the most crosses in the league this season (267) and creates a whopping 2.8 chances per 90 from right back.

1. Kevin De Bruyne (78)

The most creative player in the Premier League, to no one’s surprise is Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian has the most assists in the league so far (12) and creates 3.6 chances per 90, the highest out of any player this year.

Not only has he created the most chances, he has also created the most ‘big’ chances (24) highlighting how he is the most creative player in the league.
