This week sees the return of the UEFA Europa League, as 16 teams battle it out in the play-off round over two legs – but when will the draw for the competition’s next round take place?
Eight Europa League play-off first-leg ties take place this evening, with the second-legs taking place next week on Thursday, February 23.

A key fixture in the play-off round is that of Manchester United against Barcelona, who are the highest ranked remaining teams in the competition (according to the UEFA club coefficients).
The eight group winners are already in the round of the 16, and will be joined by the eight winners of the two-legged play-off rounds. Premier League high-flyers Arsenal are one of the eight teams that already have a spot in the round of 16.
Following the completion of the second-legs of the play-off round, the draw for the round of 16 will take place with the fixtures to be played on March 9 and 16.
When Is The Europa League Round Of 16 Draw?
The draw for the round of 16 takes place on Friday, February 24, at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, at 11am UK time.
How Does The Draw Work?
The 16 teams in the next round will be split into two groups: seeded and unseeded.
The eight group winners will be the seeded teams, and will be drawn against the eight play-off round winners who will be unseeded.
All eight of the seeded sides will be drawn to play the second-leg of the round of 16 at home.
Man Utd and Arsenal won’t be able to draw each other however, as teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.
