Dominic Solanke is the latest striker to be linked with a move to east London, as West Ham’s transfer news hots up as September’s deadline fast approaches.
West Ham Transfer News
For all the fear-mongering that has dominated West Ham’s transfer news throughout the summer, it now looks as if the Hammers may round off the window having acquired some shrewd signings.
A deal for Stuttgart centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos is reportedly nearing completion, meaning the only outfield position yet to be bolstered is the attack.
There have been mutterings in recent days that West Ham have opened talks with long-time target Youseff En-Nesyri, who was the subject of a £21 million bid from the Hammers two years ago.
However, it now appears Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke is chief among their forward targets, with Football Insider claiming that they have already lodged an initial £35m bid.
The former Chelsea and Liverpool man proved pivotal to the Cherries staggering revival towards the end of last year, finding the net seven times and registering as many assists.
After penning an extension to his contract last summer, his current deal on the south coast doesn’t run out until 2026.
The 25-year-old has been the subject of strong interest this window, with the report also claiming that another Premier League side has enquired over a move with just over a week left until the deadline.
Three years left on his current deal would likely mean Bournemouth play hardball, particularly with the knowledge that West Ham have benefited from the sizeable cash injection as a result of Declan Rice’s departure.
