West Ham United beat Freiburg 2-1 on Thursday night in the Europa League in a huge victory for the side. Following the historic result, check out the latest West Ham Europa League odds.

Story Of The Game

West Ham came into the game searching for their third win in a row in all competitions, looking to build on their Matchday 1 win in the Europa League.

David Moyes’ side won 3-1 against Backa Topola a couple of weeks ago and looked to make it two wins from two in Group A.

The Hammers got off to a dream start at the Europa Park Stadion as Lucas Paqueta headed the side in front after just eight minutes. It was good work from Jarrod Bowen down the wing and his cross was inch perfect for the Brazilian, who was free as a bird in the box.

Paqueta had the ball in the back of the net for a second time just a few minutes later, but he was judged offside and the goal was ruled out.

Moyes’ men were dominant in the first half and led going into the break.

However, the hosts equalised just moments into the second half. Lukasz Fabianski made a wonderful double save, but Roland Sallai levelled the game at the third attempt for Freiburg, sending the home crowd into oblivion.

West Ham’s hard work eventually payed off as they took the lead just after the hour mark. It was another header for the visitors as Nayef Aguerd met James Ward-Prowse’s delightful corner and the Moroccan defender made no mistake as he powered home.

This win for the Irons was a historic one. They stretched their unbeaten run in Europe to 17 games, which is the longest of any English side ever.
