Arsenal have sent a club record fee of £90m to West Ham for Declan Rice, but the Hammers are expected to reject their second offer before the end of the day.

The Gunners remain ‘confident’ of signing Declan Rice this summer, despite West Ham reportedly rejecting Arsenal’s latest bid for the Hammers captain.

Manchester City are still reportedly interested in signing Rice this summer and West Ham expect them to enter the race to sign the 24-year-old later this week.

The £90m bid from Arsenal includes £15m in add-ons but would still make Rice a record signing for the Gunners, overtaking the £72m they paid for Nicolas Pepe in 2019.

Rice featured for England during their 7-0 victory over North Macedonia on Monday night, with the West Ham player fuelling Arsenal transfer rumours after posting pictures of Bukayo Saka after the game.

Saka scored a hat-trick for England and Rice took to Instagram to congratulate his teammate with a post dedicated to the ‘on fire’ Saka.

West Ham are still holding out for over £90m for Rice and they believe that Arsenal’s £15m in add-ons will be difficult to achieve.
