West Ham won 4-1 in their crucial Europa Conference League quarter-final second leg clash against Gent at the London Stadium on Thursday night.
A draw in the first leg meant tonight’s clash was all to play for and a chance for the hosts to extend their unbeaten run to four games in all competitions at a crucial part of the season.
The Hammers were dealt a shock after 26 minutes when Hugo Cuypers opened the scoring for the visitors before Michail Antonio found the net once again 11 minutes later.
West Ham were awarded a penalty ten minutes after the restart and Lucas Paqueta put his side in front for the second time in the tie before captain Declan Rice added a third goal two minutes shy of the hour.
Antonio’s sixth goal in the competition wrapped up the tie for David Moyes’ side, who are deep in the midst of a relegation battle to remain in England’s top flight.

West Ham will now face AZ Alkmaar in the semi-finals, who will prove to be no pushover having already knocked out Anderlecht and Lazio.
On the other side of the draw, Turkish outfit Basel will face Serie A’s Fiorentina for a place in the final on June 7 at The Eden Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
According to Premier League betting sites, West Ham are 20/1 to be relegated and have safely distanced themselves from threats to dropping into England’s second tier.
David Moyes’ future as manager also became uncertain at parts over the season, but his job appears to be secure as the Hammers look to finish the season on a high.
