West Ham United got off to the perfect start in their bid to win the Europa League with a hard-earned three points in Group A, coming from behind to beat Serbian outfit TSC 3-1.

The Hammers gained entry to the competition through triumph in the Conference League last season and fell behind shortly after the restart in their opening fixture following a poor mistake from Angelo Ogbonna, with Petar Stanic capitalising to find the net.

West Ham were back on level terms after 66 minutes thanks to an own goal from Nemanja Petrovic before Mohammed Kudus bagged his first goal for the club four minutes later to put the hosts in front.

Tomas Soucek put the cherry on top of an important win for David Moyes’ side inside the final ten minutes, lifting United to the top of their group and ahead of Freiburg on goal difference.

According to Europa League betting sites, West Ham are the sixth-favourites to win this competition this season and the bookies are having a hard time seeing anyone other than Liverpool lift the trophy.

The London outfit have enjoyed an impressive start to the new Premier League season and life post-Declan Rice has seen West Ham pick up three wins from five with just one defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

After winning on the European stage for the first time since 1965 earlier this year, the Hammers have firmly placed themselves amongst the contenders to find glory again and they’ll fancy their chances of easing through to the knockout stage.
