London rivals Tottenham and West Ham lock horns on match week 15 of the 2023/24 Premier League season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night in a fixture that rarely disappoints.
The heated derby is one of the most exciting in English football and usually brings about many talking points. From dubious tackles, questionable refereeing decisions and of course, great goals.
Ahead of Thursday’s blockbuster, here at SportsLens, we take a look back at Tottenham and West Ham’s 3-3 epic from 2020 featuring THAT goal from Manuel Lanzini.
Tottenham vs West Ham Recent H2H
The last four Premier League meetings between Tottenham and West Ham have seen two Spurs wins, one draw and one victory for the Hammers.
The last time they met, it finished 2-0 to the Lilywhites with goals from Emerson Royal and Heung-Min Son proving the difference in north London.
The reverse fixture in the 2022/23 season saw the sides play out a 1-1 draw. Tomas Soucek replied for the Hammers after a Thilo Kehrer own goal gave Antonio Conte’s side the lead.
In the 2021/22 season, a Son double and an own goal from Kurt Zouma gave Spurs a 3-1 win over their London rivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The last Premier League meeting before that, Michail Antonio’s strike gave the east Londoners a 1-0 win on home soil.
Tottenham Vs West Ham Best Goals
As earlier mentioned, Tottenham vs West Ham has provided some of the best Premier League goals ever witnessed. Manuel Lanzini’s effort is perhaps the most memorable, hitting a last-gasp stunner to equalise when the Hammers had been trailing 3-0 with eight minutes to go in 2020.
Gareth Bale, Dimitar Berbatov and Heung-Min Son have all netted screamers in this fixture, as well as Trevor Sinclair, Ian Pearce and Pedro Obiang to name but a few. Ahead of Thursday’s clash, the best UK betting sites make Tottenham the match favourites at 10/13, the draw 33/10 and West Ham 18/5.
