Unexpected Party Paddy Power Gold Cup Odds
Trainer Dan Skelton has won the Paddy Power Gold Cup as assistant trainer to Paul Nicholls, but he’s never won the big Cheltenham Handicap Chase under his own name.
However, he’s got a great chance of putting that right his weekend with the 8 year-old UNEXPECTED PARTY, who has been well-backed in recent days leading up to the event.
The horse returned last month to win at Chepstow and the form of that race has since been franked with the runner-up Knappers Hill winning at Wincanton last weekend.
Unexpected Party has only been raised 4lbs for that success and despite running behind Stage Star at Cheltenham twice last season, including then 5th in the Turners Novices’ Chase (watch below), seems to have improved this term.
He will also meet the Nicholls runner on 9lbs better terms than when running against him at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
UNEXPECTED PARTY Paddy Power Gold Cup odds are at 11/2 – you can support him here with BetMGM.
