The fight every British boxing fan wanted to see. Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua looks like it may never happen, after the latest round of negotiations have come to a stand still. Both teams had been working tirelessly to make the fight happen, but it seems like the fight won’t go ahead on December 3rd.

It was supposedly agreed that the British heavyweights would face each other at the Principality Stadium in Wales. A shared broadcast and promotion deal was also supposedly agreed and on the table. However, at some stage in negotiations, Team Fury and Team Joshua have come to a crossroads, and don’t know which way to go.

Fury vs Joshua Looks To Have Fallen Through Yet Again

It looks like once again, just like in 2021, that negotiations between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have fallen apart.

After supposedly positive talks for the past fortnight or so, with a venue, date, purse split and broadcast deal supposedly being agreed, it looked like boxing fans were finally getting this enormous fight. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case now after negotiations have halted once and for all.

Eddie Hearn, who has been Joshua’s promotor since he turned professional back in 2013, isn’t optimistic that the fight will get signed anymore. Hearn has insisted he is open to continuing talks and wants the fight to happen.

“As far as we’re concerned the fight’s off. We’re happy to continue the discussions.

“In our mind, he’s not fighting Anthony Joshua. We’re more than happy to continue those conversations but what we’ve been told is the deadline is passed and so have the entire country.

“We have sent the final version of the contract back, they’ve come back with points and we were told that the fight is off by the man himself,” said Hearn.

This is a huge disappointment and kick in the teeth for boxing fans, who are desperate to see this fight happen. The Matchroom Boxing kingpin is disappointed that the fight looks to be off, but is open to continue negotiations in the future.

“It’s still there. It’s still open for discussion. But we’re not going to play a game with a bloke that’s just coming out telling AJ it’s off, and then he’s a dosser, he’s got to sign it, etc.

We’re not going to play a game. In our mind, Tyson Fury is not fighting Anthony Joshua. We’re more than happy to continue those conversations but what we’ve been told is the deadline has passed.”

Lets hope the two teams can somehow agree to the fight and it still happens. If it doesn’t happen next, fingers crossed it still happens in the not so distant future.
