Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has become the latest sporting superstar to invest in the Alpine Formula 1 team, alongside Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

This strategic investment, made by APEX, includes other A-list athletes like golf legend Rory McIlroy, former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, and tennis star Alexander Zverev.

Their involvement is part of a syndicate formed by Otro Capital, who acquired a 24% stake in Alpine for $200 million back in June. Hollywood actors Reynolds, McElhenney, and Michael B Jordan, with their ties to British football, were among the initial investors. Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have also jumped on board.

Alexander-Arnold expressed his enthusiasm for the project, pointing to the exciting growth of Formula 1 on a global scale. “I am delighted to lead an investor group investing in Alpine F1,” he stated. “The opportunity is very exciting. F1 is growing massively worldwide and I look forward to contributing to that growth.

“The sport brings together teamwork, pinpoint accuracy and innovation in a pressure-filled environment, these are aspects of my game we have in common.”

Apline Determined To Maintain Their Competitive Edge

Last year, Alpine finished fourth in the 2022 F1 Constructors’ Championship. The UK-based team aim to remain competitive despite recent challenges from teams like McLaren and Aston Martin.

The investment in Alpine by these renowned athletes shows the significant growth and popularity F1 has experienced in recent years. Alexander-Arnold’s involvement signifies the expansion of the Alpine brand within the world of sports and entertainment.

With a strong all-French driver lineup consisting of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, both Grand Prix winners, Alpine are determined to maintain their competitive edge. They currently hold the sixth position in the Constructors’ Championship, having already secured two podium finishes this season.
