Tottenham are stepping up intent around striking a deal for Club Brugge’s teenage sensation Antonio Nusa, however they could face competition from at least two other Premier League sides.

Tottenham Step Up Interest In Antonio Nusa

Spurs’ winter clear-out is going so well it could allow them time to sign more players before the deadline. Antonio Nusa is one of the targets who had previously been earmarked for the future, but may now see a potential deal brought forward.

The 18-year-old Club Brugge starlet has been identified in line with being a player that fits well with the vision that the club are mapping out under Ange Postecoglou.

Sources are not yet totally convinced an agreement will be tied up now – partly because of the price-tag attached to him – but discussions have taken place.

Scouts have checked him out over the course of the season, and he is so highly rated that it could take up to £25million to sign him. That is not the sort of cash Spurs are expected splash on a future star, but talks could also be part of a plan to get him on board later in the year.

Other clubs in the Premier League have been scouting the player, including West Ham and Brentford.

Nusa is a dynamic, exciting wide forward who would likely fit well with Spurs’ new data led recruitment policy as they invest in the future. The recent capture of Timo Werner means there is no rush around the situation, but Nusa would be viewed as a rising talent rather than someone who would immediately start for the first team, and could even go out on loan if they did sign him.

Further Incomings and Outgoings Expected In North London

The winter transfer window is proving to be an interesting one due to the volume of departures from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thus far this month.

Ivan Perisic is signing for Hajduk Split, while the likes of Ashley Phillips, Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence and Alfie Devine have all found new clubs this month. There is still scope for more – with a decision still to be made on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg amid ongoing discussions.

Tottenham have always considered that they might sign a central midfielder and they continue to consider a deal for Conor Gallagher – though that one has not progressed.

There has been consideration that they could even look to strike an early deal for Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton, who could be nabbed at just £10million. They are also being strongly linked with Atalanta’s Ederson.
