In the latest Tottenham transfer exclusive on SportsLens, we can reveal that Spurs are now looking to bolster their midfield after deals for both Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin have been completed.
Tottenham Want New Midfielder In January Transfer Window
Tottenham are ready to turn their attention to midfield business, after deals for Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin were tied up. The plan was always to aim for early deals in defence and attack so that they could fully focus on other issues in the second half of the month.
And Spurs’ hasty business around Werner and Dragusin now means they have three weeks to trim the squad and add another body in midfield.
One of the next things on the to-do list is to finalise terms with Bayern Munich over any deal for Eric Dier, but they also need to discover what Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is feeling about his situation.
Spurs are happy to keep him (Hojbjerg) on board but if the player is keen to push for a move, they will open up to the idea of a transfer and then replace him. As it stands the club with firm interest in signing him is Juventus, but sources have indicated to SportsLens that they want a loan agreement and Ange Postecoglou and co have intimated they would not be interested in that.
Who Are Spurs Interested In?
Yves Bissouma and Papa Matar Sarr are away on international duty, while James Maddison should be back in the frame soon after injury. One of the obvious links is for Spurs to move for Conor Gallagher, and there is intention to check in with Chelsea whether he is close to an agreement on a new contract.
Spurs are also being linked with 21-year-old Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, while it is understood they have made checks on midfielders in Italy including Genoa’s Morten Frendrup and Roma’s Bryan Cristante.
Hackney scored for Boro in a 1-0 win over Chelsea but will not be available for transfer until the summer, sources say. It would certainly be a Tottenham transfer saga worth keeping up with, so keep an eye out for more exclusives on the site.
