Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly readying a move for Gent’s Nigerian striker Gift Orban, as they look to replace Harry Kane – who joined Bayern Munich over the weekend.

Following the departure of talisman Harry Kane for Bayern Munich, Tottenham are in desperate need of new firing power in attack.

Richarlison led the line for Ange Postecoglou’s side against Brentford at the weekend, however there are little to no alternative options at the club in terms of out-and-out strikers.

And having been linked to Gent forward Gift Orban for several months, Football Insider report that Spurs are readying a move for the Nigerian.

In their report, it is claimed that Tottenham scouts have been “blown away” by Orban’s ability, after a breakout season in the Belgian Pro League.

At just 21-years-old, Orban bagged 20 goals and two assists in 22 appearances for Gent last term, having joined from Norwegian side Stabaek in January.

Spurs chiefs reportedly feel that the youngster has the potential to replace Kane’s goals both this season, and in the long term.

Not only has Orban been earmarked as a potential attacking target for Tottenham, but also Mathys Tel and Brennan Johnson.

All three have been tipped for moves to north London throughout the window, although talks of a move for Tel have quietened in recent times, whilst interest in Johnson remains.

Orban would become the seventh new face through the door this summer, after Manor Solomon, Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and James Maddison.

Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have also signed permanently this summer, with both having initially joined the club on loan.
