With that in mind, SportsLens’ in-house price-setters have put together their latest Tottenham January transfer betting odds, which lists a hosts of defenders who continue to be linked with a move to north London.

Tottenham Transfer Odds: Todibo Heads Up Postecoglou’s Defender Shortlist

Jean-Clair Todibo

Former Barcelona centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo is a man in demand, and the latest Fabrizio Romano transfer news suggests both Manchester United and Tottenham are chief among a long line of potential suitors.

The 23-year-old endured a turbulent few years after being let go by the Catalonians, but he has clawed his way back into the limelight this year to become an integral part of a Nice defence that has conceded the second-least goals across Europe’s top five leagues.

Todibo represents the kind of ‘Rolls-Royce’ style centre-back that is in such high demand in the market, and according to Romano, Nice are well aware of the value he commands. For any club hoping to acquire his services in January, it may prove to be a difficult, and rather expensive deal.

Arthur Vermeeren

Royal Antwerp’s crowning jewel, Arthur Vermeeren, is making quite the name for himself in Belgium. At just 18, his deep-lying midfield ability to well beyond his years, and given Tottenham have looked stretched at times in the middle of the park, it is no surprise to see them linked with a player of his talents.

One to keep a close eye in January, if recent reports are to be believed.

Other Centre-Back Targets

Genoa’s Radu Dragusin has quickly emerged as a serious Tottenham January target this week, and the 21-year-old is expected to be the subject of a €30m proposal, according to reports in Italy.

Fulham’s Tosin Adirabioyo and Leicester’s Wout Fans have been floated as potential targets closer to home, while Benfica’s never-ending revolving door of talent has spat out another highly-rated centre-back in the mould of Morato, although his price tag may be too inflated for a January swoop at nearly £60m.

Jota

The curious case of Jota continues to do the rounds, with no one quite what the situation is following a topsy-turvy start to his career in Saudi Arabia.

An almost instant return to Celtic was touted soon after his arrival, but he has stayed put at Al-Ittihad for the time being. However, at just 24, there is plenty of wiggle room for a move in the very near future, and a reunion with former manager Ange Postecoglou may be on the cards, under whom he registered 13 goals and 14 assists in a record breaking year for Celtic in 2022.
