Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly seen their chances of signing Clement Lenglet on a permanent deal dwindle, as Al Nassr prepare £15m bid.

Spurs have been dealt a blow in their approach for the French defender, as the club were keen on acquiring his services on a permanent basis following a successful loan move last year.

The Frenchman made 35 appearances for Tottenham last season, showing promising signs in what was a poor season for the side from north London.

Being a left-footed central defender, the 28-year-old has become a key asset in the Premier League and Postecoglou was reportedly keen to keep Lenglet in England.

Spurs have been busy in the opening weeks of this summer window, signing James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario and starting a huge re-build at the club.

However, the club are still surrounded in uncertainty as star man, and record goalscorer, Harry Kane, has been in negotiations over a move to Bayern Munich.

Barcelona signed the France international in 2019 for around £30m and his contract at the Nou Camp is set to expire in 2026.

However, the Spanish side are set to accept a £15m bid from Saudi Arabian side, Al Nassr, as they look to hijack the deal from Spurs.

Saudi Arabia has seen football become more and more popular over recent years, with one of the best players throughout history, Cristiano Ronaldo, signing in January this year.

This summer window has seen a plethora of elite players follow suit, as N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy have all moved to the ever-progressing country.

The latest player to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia was Kylian Mbappe, as PSG accepted a £250m bid for the French superstar – however the Frenchman rejected the opportunity.

Lenglet wold join former Liverpool star, Sadio Mane and Croatian international, Marcel Brozovic, who have both joined Al Nassr this summer.
