KSI vs Tommy Fury: The History
YouTuber turned boxer, Olajide Olatunji (KSI), had a meteoric rise to fame and is now one of the biggest online ‘influencers’ in the United Kingdom. Earning recognition through FIFA content, the 30-year-old YouTuber built a ‘cult-like’ fan base, which has now extended to over 20 million subscribers.
This audience has carried over to his new career path, boxing, and KSI is now the owner of his own boxing promotion, Misfits. Headlining a host of events, the former FIFA YouTuber has helped build the organisation and earned a monstrous partnership with DAZN.
Boxing purists across the globe have taken issue with the new ‘crossover boxing’ scene, with Misfits introducing tag team boxing, mystery opponents and a lower standard of boxing. However, earning hundreds of thousands of PPV purchases it has become impossible to ignore.
In his last bout, Olajide Olatunji beat former British boxer, Joe Fournier, in a controversial bout that saw KSI win via knock-out. However, the replays revealed the finishing blow was caused via an elbow and the result was overturned to a no contest.

With this said, the new-style has caught the eye of professional boxers and Tommy Fury, brother of heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, has become a household name in the crossover boxing scene.
Despite devoting his life to the sport and being a member of the famous fighting family, Fury found fame through his time on Love Island. Becoming a household name in the UK, the 24-year-old has ventured into this modern version of the sport and showed the world why he is viewed on a professional standard.
Beating Jake Paul via unanimous decision earlier this year, Tommy Fury now finds himself on the path to fight the second biggest name in crossover boxing, KSI.
