The Most Memorable Jurgen Klopp Moments At Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp brought joy and humour into the hearts of Liverpool supporters. After his announcement that he’ll be leaving the club at the end of the summer, let’s relive those moments.

Liverpool 2-2 West Brom – 13 December 2015

A late Divock Origi goal rescued a point for Liverpool. After the final whistle went, Klopp gathered the players and took them down to the Kop to receive a standing ovation. This confused a lot of supporters and was laughed at by rival fans but this was the first moment that his Liverpool team showed the ‘never say die’ attitude and he wanted his players to get the applause for that.

Norwich 4-5 Liverpool – 23 January 2016

Speaking of the ‘never say die’ attitude, it was in full flow here. Liverpool went 3-1 down, completed a comeback to make it 4-3, conceded an equaliser in added time, but Adam Lallana scored three minutes later to make it 5-4. Klopp broke his glasses amidst the crazy celebrations.

Liverpool 4-3 Borussia Dortmund (5-4 aggregate) – 14 April 2016

Liverpool mounted another ridiculous comeback against Dortmund. 3-1 down with 25 minutes to go, Liverpool scored three goals to send themselves to the semi-final of the Europa League.

Liverpool 4-3 Manchester City – 14 January 2018

Klopp’s Liverpool outplayed Pep Guardiola’s unbeaten Manchester City and was the first match that gave Klopp’s Reds new life.

Liverpool 1-0 Everton – 8 December 2018

Another Origi moment in injury time. His late winner sent Klopp running on the pitch to hug Allison. He was fined £8k for his erratic celebrations.

Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona – May 7 2019

Perhaps the best moment of Klopp’s time with Liverpool. No Mohamed Salah. No Roberto Firmino. No problem. Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum were the heroes on this night.

Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool – 1 June 2019

Klopp’s first trophy with Liverpool was Europe’s most prestigious trophy. The Champions League win sparked some emotional celebrations from Klopp.

Liverpool 5-3 Chelsea – 22 July 2020

Klopp lifts Liverpool’s first ever Premier League title. It was a shame there wasn’t a crowd to celebrate it with but the moment is still embedded in Liverpool’s history.

Liverpool 7-0 Manchester United – 5 March 2023

A match that will haunt Manchester United supporters for decades.

Liverpool 4-3 Tottenham – 30 April 2023

Klopp’s bonkers celebrations have been a big part of this article so we may as well end with one. Liverpool went 3-0 up in this one but Tottenham managed to peg them back at 3-3. One minute later, Diogo Jota scored with the last kick of the game to send Klopp running. He pulled his hamstring in the celebration. Ouch!
