Former German flat horse that went into many a notebook after a facile win at Wetherby on debut. Looks to have a big future for the Skelton camp. Harry Skelton rides.
12:40 – John Wyke Memorial Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase Cl3 (4yo+) 3m1½f RTV: WEVEALLBEENCAUGHT
Has acted well at the track in the past and didn’t disgrace when third to stablemate Broadway Boy last time here. Useful claimer on to take off 3lbs and expected to go well again.
1:15 – Quintessentially Handicap Chase Cl2 (4yo+) 2m½f ITV: IN EXCELSIS DEO
Third on his first run back here in October – staying on well. The form of that race has been franked and looks the one to beat.
1:50 – Virgin Bet December Gold Cup Handicap Chase Cl1 (4yo+) 2m4½f ITV: THUNDER ROCK (nb)
Didn’t disgrace himself in the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival last season. Has a big engine and is only 4lbs higher than last winning mark.
2:25 – Favourite From The Sun Now Daily Handicap Chase Cl1 (4yo+) 3m2f ITV: BROADWAY BOY (NAP)
Lightly-raced over fences with just three runs and has improved with each outing. The last being an easy Listed Chase success here and that looks the best form on the table.
3:00 – Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Registered As The Bristol Novices’ Hurdle) (Grade 2) Cl1 (4yo+) 3m ITV: CADELL
Templegate expects this Lucinda Russell runner to improve over this longer trip – having stayed on well at Kelso the last day. Looks the value call over the fancied Shanagh Bob.
3:35 – Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back mares’ Handicap Hurdle Cl2 (4yo+) 2m4½f ITV: THEATRE GLORY (treble)
Travelled well the last day at Ascot until the petrol ran out quickly suggesting she needed the run. Will strip fitter this time and despite having topweight is the class act in the race.
